Modeling the Influence of Early Sound Reflections on Speech Intelligibility

Reverberation can be a significant interference if the voice control of the unmanned aerial vehicles is performed by an indoor operator. In this paper, two simplified models of early sound reflections in a room are considered. The first model is a single reflection at a time interval of 0–50 ms. The second model is a set of reflections randomly distributed, according to a uniform law, over the same time interval. For both models, speech intelligibility was calculated using the Schroeder formula, which made it possible to obtain functional dependences of speech intelligibility on the parameter values of the models under consideration.
