Nowadays, modern revolution of industry cause most of industry are using DC sources as power supplies. By regulating desired output voltage, DC supplies use power converters. Boost Converter is one of power converters and it has utility to convert DC voltage to higher level than input voltage. The output voltage generated by the boost converter have some faults such as overshoot in output voltage and oscillation such that the slow settling time is generated. Therefore, the sliding mode controller is used on the boost converter to improve the output voltage. The proposed controller is using power information as sliding surface. Based on the proposed controller, the response of output voltage can be improved. PID controller is employed as compared controller. The proposed controller is able to eliminate overshoot at the beginning and able to reach the output voltage reference when some parameters changed. Based the recovery time and voltage deviation, proposed controller has the small value when it compared by PID controller.
