The disaster prone areas need quick response strategy to locate resources as early as possible. Also, in disaster situations, there is a need to optimize the resource utilization in real time. This task needs real time data collection, where the collected data must be made accessible at all times. Moreover, these data may be accessed by the responsible authorities at any place. The data cloud is the most prominent solution in this context, which provides the services of accessing, analyzing and storing the data from any place and at any time. The most challenging tasks are to collect, store and analyze the data on cloud in disaster scenarios. This paper focuses on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles to collect and communicate the data generated by the sensors to cloud platform in real time. The novelty of paper is in terms of the use of UAV as an IoT device.
