In industries worker safety is nowadays a vital aspect. In an automobile industry double chain conveyor assembly lines are used to produce a heavy-duty vehicle's chassis. In the truck chassis turn-over process, removing and placing of fixture on double chain conveyor is done manually under a suspended frame, which causes fatal (or) permeant disability for workers. This also leads to problem in material handling. This paper aims at fabricating a fixture replacing equipment which can be fitted with double chain conveyor in turn-over stage. The fixtures are automatically removed and placed on the double chain conveyor with the help of pneumatic system. The fixture replacing equipment is designed, modelled and analysed using solid works. The pneumatic cylinder operating sequence+ is designed using FluidSIM software. Further it demonstrates that the working of the fixture replacing equipment meet the requirements and proves the feasibility of design study.
