A Method for Predicting Wheel Set Wear of Rail Vehicles

With the increase of the running times of rail transit vehicles, the wheel set wear constantly, and the diameter size of the wheel set will become smaller and smaller. The algorithm can be used to predict the diameter and wear value of the wheel set, and let the relevant departments deal with the unqualified wheel set in advance. In this paper, the algorithm based on wavelet analysis and gray system theory is used to predict the diameter of wheel set and the wear value of wheel set before repair, and the residual test method is used to predict the prediction curve. The results are compared with the two prediction algorithms studied-the least square method and the gray system theory. The results show that the algorithm based on wavelet analysis and gray system theory is better than least square method and gray system theory in predicting wheel set diameter and wear value.
