Firstly, this paper describes the background and the purpose about study of design means to prevent errors resulting from flight crew operating the landing gear system controls including landing gear control lever, alternate extension switch, tiller, rudder pedal steering disconnection button, steering disarming switch for civil aircraft. Secondly, it lists the design criteria about preventing flight crew errors. Thirdly, it analyzes the effect of errors resulting from flight crew operating the landing gear system controls on aircraft and determines the applicable criteria. Thirdly, based on the criteria determined above, it proposes some design means to prevent errors resulting from flight crew operating the landing gear system controls. Lastly, it draws the conclusion that the design criteria, the analysis process and the proposed design means mentioned in this paper are expected to be used as a reference to design means to prevent errors resulting from flight crew operating the landing gear system controls and the cockpit controls of other aircraft systems for civil aircraft.
