Determining of noise immission in the vicinity of airports in the Slovak republic

According to legislation of the Slovak Republic, noise pollution from air traffic is evaluated by A -weighted Equivalent Continuous Sound Level and A-weighted Maximum Sound Level SLOW. This environmental noise can be determined by measurement or calculation. Calculation, which is mostly done with the use of mathematical modeling in a large area around the monitored airport, requires input of several parameters, including noise emission parameters of aircraft operating at the airport. The paper describes the method of obtaining aforementioned data by measurement for aircraft whose input data were unavailable for determining the noise pollution in the vicinity of three airports in the Slovak republic. The calculated results, describing the noise pollution caused by air traffic, were compared with measured data obtained in the broader area of monitored airports.
