In this paper, an experimental study on the identification of noise sources and noise transfer paths was carried out for cabin noise of a lightweight forklift truck. In stationary condition, noise reduction, noise transfer function and acoustic cavity mode were measured to investigate vibroacoustic characteristics of the cabin. In operational condition, the major transfer paths were identified by using operational transfer path analysis and panel contribution analysis. After comparative analysis between two conditions, it was found that cabin noise was amplified in special frequency range as RPM of hydraulic pump goes up. The amplification was attributed to vibroacoustic characteristics of the cabin. In order to avoid resonance, the previous pump was replaced with a new pump generating 2~3 times higher frequency than itself, and therefore the cabin noise was reduced.
