This paper describes the planning, preparations, equipment and coordination necessary to successfully conduct maintenance on equipment installed in a rock tunnel. Such work routinely involves confined space entry protocols, traffic control, cleaning and calibration expertise, and managing people with diverse skill sets. The activities for this specific tunnel entry are complicated by its location at an international border's security area. This unique attribute requires a high level of communication with several governmental entities to satisfy multiple, sometimes competing, concerns.
