摘要

This pilot project was initiated at the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District's (MMSD) Jones Island Water Reclamation Facility (JIWRF) operated by Veolia North to demonstrate how KCF Technologies' Internet-of-Things (IoT) technology can be integrated with the thermodynamic method for measuring pump performance. The objective was to provide a realtime, practical and affordable means for wirelessly monitoring the efficiency and flow rates of pumping systems in a water reclamation facility. The reason for this pilot study is efficiency and reliability. One of the main candidates for improving energy efficiency is underperforming pumping systems since pumps account for nearly 25% of energy usage in many water reclamation facilities. At Veolia, this pilot project demonstrated that the efficiency and flow rates of a RAS pump could be monitored in real time. This data provides a framework for optimizing the collective duty cycles of parallel RAS pumps to reduce total energy costs plus extend the life cycle of each pump.
