Aiming at the demand of a variety of metal structure target cutting, a linear cutting charge test device is designed in this paper. The formation process of the jet of the Linear cutting charge model is simulated. As can be seen from computational results, the linear cutting charge with the liner of copper material and cylindrical shape is used to form a cutting knife-type jet with a front-end speed of 4.2 km/s~4.3 km/s. The cutting tests for railway rails and steel plate were carried out. It can be seen that the linear cutting charge designed in this paper has achieved a good cutting effect.
