Low voltage ride through (LVRT) and high voltage ride through (HVRT) capability have become the most dominate grid connection requirements for wind energy conversion system (WECS) all over the world. In order to achieve a safe and stable operation, a coordinated LVRT and HVRT control scheme is proposed to improve the fault ride through capability of PMSG-based wind farm. The improved control scheme can not only survive serve voltage dip or swell but also provide dynamic reactive currents injection at the same time. Different comparison case studies are conducted in PSCAD/EMTDC to validate the performance of the proposed control strategy.
