New Laboratory Concept Used with the Data Acquisition System Fundamentals Course

The paper analyses a new lab concept, in all its aspects: the method, the flow, the instruments, the platform, the requirements and the results. Theory, simulation, hands-on experiment and verification concur and confirm each other. However, differences between theoretical equations, simulation model analysis and experimental measurements are emphasized. Multisim SW was used for editing and simulating the schematics, Ultiboard for layout, "Analog Discovery" workbench and WaveForms SW are used for measurements and functional analysis. Three years of conducting the new lab demonstrate a better implication of both students and instructors. The success encourages students to extend the experiments beyond the lab handout required exercises. Despite a higher challenge for both parties, the increase of the satisfaction level and the measurable student's results confirm the success of the new concept.
