The manufacturing industry faces major challenges in order to increase their efficiency and versatility. In this context, it is crucial for businesses to ensure that their employees have the necessary data, information, and expertise to make real-time decisions. With the recent development of Industry 4.0 technology, the amount of available data, production, system flexibility and real-time information have increased rapidly. However, there is no proper communication within the manufacturing industry's IT infrastructure, there needs to be a simple flow and data sharing across the networks, therefore, the existing solution was focused on an off-line connection. To a large extent, the image of the whole shop floor is not visible in real time, which has stopped high-level managers from monitoring activities in the shopfloor and what could obstruct prompt delivery to customers. This paper reviewed current literature on data and information distribution within the manufacturing sector, and also propose the implementation of cloud service on a CNC based Welding machine, thereby making it a smart factory.
