The output voltage waveform of an ordinary single -phase inverter is a square wave and if it is applied to electrical appliances this may damage or reduce the efficiency as well as life of the respective electrical appliance. This may happen because the inverter output waveform is not sinusoidal and using Fourier transform it can be seen that this inverter output voltage also.nm contains lower and higher order harmonics in addition to fundamental. Moreover, the output voltage of ordinary inverter cannot be controlled. In this paper a proposal is given for a single phase full-bridge inverter using MOSFETs which will not only eliminate six numbers of lower order harmonics but will also control the output voltage at desired level. Whatever harmonics are present, they will be in the higher order side and can easily be filtered out using low cost filter to obtain almost sinusoidal output voltage waveform. The idea can be extended to design three phase inverter with adjustable output voltage and with improved waveform [1].
