Virtual power plant (VPP), as a new distributed energy management center, has developed rapidly all over the world. The study of the benefits of VPP in power market exchange can provide VPP operators with more scientific and reasonable dispatching strategy. Moreover, those researches could improve the competitiveness of VPP in power market transactions. In this paper, the concept of VPP is first introduced. A VPP optimal dispatching method is proposed, which takes into account the intermittent output of new energy and the uncertainty of electricity price in power market combined with the existing power market mechanism. Moreover, an optimal dispatching of virtual power plant and its energy loss cost model are introduced. The solution method of stochastic programming is studied. Furthermore, the conditional risk value is introduced to comprehensively evaluate the market transaction risk caused by the different uncertain factors. The simulation results in a VPP containing gas turbine generator, wind power generator and PV system show that the model can effectively analyze the economy of VPP. In order to solve the unbalance problem, a VPP optimal scheduling model is proposed.
