The thermophysical characterization of building materials is necessary for any calculation of energy consumption. It makes it possible to quantify the thermal performance of materials in order to switch to a much more energy-efficient mode by reducing the energy consumption for heating, cooling, and ventilation. The main objective of this study is to determine the thermal properties of five types of wood (oak, beech, walnut, red and cedar) using experimental methods such as the stationary hot plane and the flash method. For this reason, five samples were prepared and experimental measurements were made in the dry state for the longitudinal direction of the different wood species. The results lead to values of apparent density, thermal conductivity, and thermal diffusivity are in the range of 435.7 to 754.2 Kg/m3, 0.131 to 0.193W/m.K and 1.29 to 1.51m2/s, respectively.
