Label-Free Impedometric Antibiogram Test

摘要

This paper reports a novel electrical antiprogram method. In this work, an impedance based measurement system is used to record the variation of impedance in between electrodes exposed to a microbial sample in the presence and absence of two different types of antibiotics. By adding an antibiotic, the impedance signal significantly changes in less than 20 minutes. Based on these results, the proposed impedance based system can offer the advantages of a label free, fast detection means of microbial susceptibility assessment to different types of antibiotics, suitable for the diagnosis of infectious diseases.
