C-Shaped Radiator Structure Antenna for Wireless Communication

In this research outcome, a C-shaped microstrip antenna is developed for the applications of Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). The proposed C-shaped patch antenna exhibits two operating frequencies at 3.7 and 5.2 GHz with bandwidths 110 MHz (3.62-3.73 GHz) and 160 MHz (5.06-5.22 GHz), respectively. The antenna structure provides a peak gain of 5.53 dBi and 5.39 dBi at 3.7 GHz and 5.2 GHz, respectively. Antenna efficiency obtained at 3.7 GHz and 5.2 GHz are 34.5% and 31.5%, respectively. Key performance metrics of the antenna are evaluated by two different software.
