Trading Decision for Multiple Virtual Power Plants Considering Power Sharing

The continuous promotion and deepening of the electricity market reform, as well as the implementation of the pilot distributed power generation market, provide the policy support for power sharing, so the conditions for implementing the power sharing model will be increasingly adequate. In this paper, a power sharing mode of multiple virtual power plants (multi-VPP) is proposed, and the distributed trading decisionmaking model of multi-VPP is established. By coordinating the exchanged power among the VPPs within the multi-VPP, along with the exchanged power between the multi-VPP and the main grid, the total operating costs of the multi-VPP are minimized. Considering that each VPP is an independent entity with ability to make decision by themselves, the proposed model is transformed into a distributed optimization problem in which each VPP makes its own decision by using distributed optimization algorithm. To verify the validity of the proposed model, a multi-VPP formed by three VPPs are selected for simulation analysis.
