Load flow modeling and analysis is a basic problem for planning and operation of integrated electricity and gas system (IEGS). However, all the existing studies on load flow analysis of IEGS are implemented based on the modeling assumption of horizontal pipelines.This paper aims to provide an insight into the effect of pipeline elevations on load flow distribution of IEGS with a focus on the integrated electricity-gas distribution system (IEGDS) composed by the power distribution and low-pressure gas systems. The load flow formulation considering pipeline elevation correction and three-phase unbalanced power distribution is proposed, and the load flow method based on the co-simulation of MATLAB and OpenDSS is then developed to obtain a more realistic load flow solution. An IEGDS example composed by the IEEE 13-bus distribution system and a 9-node gas distribution network is used to investigate effects of pipeline elevations on IEGDS analysis.
