The on-line monitoring device installed on the transmission line tower runs instability due to lack reliable power supply, and there is a continuous source of inductive power in the overhead ground wire. The ground wire energy acquisition device can effectively solve these problems. In this paper, a multi-level combined lightning protection strategy for ground-based energy acquisition system is proposed. A wide input and high-stability DC/DC voltage regulator control circuit are designed. The isolation transformer of the energy acquisition system is also designed. The overhead ground line energy acquisition system is developed, and the dual ground line energy acquisition test platform is built. The energy acquisition test is also conducted. Test results demonstrate that the device meets the design requirements and verifies the feasibility of the energy acquisition for overhead ground wire.
