This work presents the design and simulation of the 3-bit electro-optic parity generator circuit with silicon micro-ring resonator as its base component. The micro-ring resonator incorporates the PIN diode structure to enable the electro-optic free carrier diffusion effect. Two silicon micro-ring resonators are configured, where one of them operates as an XOR gate while the other operates as an XNOR gate. The proposed circuit was then simulated by adding three digital bit streams into the circuit inputs, while its parity bit output was observed with an oscilloscope. The simulation is run at the data rate of 1Gbps, and timing diagrams are made in order to demonstrate the operation of the parity bit output logic state.
