In an age where minimization of resources is of prime importance, a control technique is proposed in this paper which uses limited communication. The concept of event-trigger technique is used to design an attitude regulation control for the rigid spacecraft. The proposed technique updates the control input to the actuator only when a specific condition on the measurement error is satisfied. The transmission of updated information occurs only at some discrete instances, which subsequently reduces the number of updates of the control input. Moreover, the designed controller addresses the undesirable phenomenon of unwinding. Stability of the closed-loop system under the influence of internal and external disturbances is proved using Lyapunov analysis. The numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the effective performance of the proposed technique.
