Project purpose: Convert a golf course and historic park into recycled water use areas - sounds simple. Bringing these sites into compliance with regulations was achievable. However, due to a number of complications such as common trenching, incomplete records, an extensive piping network from multiple improvement projects over decades and strict to-the-letter regulatory requirements, identifying the necessary modifications was challenging. Through coordination with local regulators, creative planning, and keen decision making, modification costs were kept as low as possible to retrofit these sites and bring them into compliance with recycled water use area regulations.
