In recent years, the development of intelligent substations has been very rapid. It has received extensive attention from experts in the power industry on a global scale. This indicates that the field of intelligent substations is a very important direction for future research and the widespread use of intelligent substations makes the grid system more intelligent. However, the rapidly developing intelligent substation network also has many security risks and is often attacked by different hackers. There are many studies on the safety of industrial control protocols. However, the research on the defense of intelligent substation communication messages is still in its infancy, especially for the research on smart substations using IEC62351 communication protocol. This paper focuses on the information security of intelligent substation systems which based on the IEC62351 communication protocol. This paper focuses on the confidentiality and real-time performance of GOOSE messages and SV (Sample Value) messages in intelligent substation. Combining the frame structure characteristics of the SV packet with the characteristics of the TEA encryption algorithm, the core field of the SV packet containing the electrical quantity information is encrypted by the TEA encryption algorithm, which can effectively prevent the SV message from being illegally stolen. According to the structural characteristics of GOOSE messages, three special fields of GOOSE messages are encrypted by TEA encryption algorithm. This paper proposes an improvement scheme for intelligent substation based on IEC62351 communication protocol, and proposes an optimization scheme for intelligent substation information security.
