In modern wireless communication systems, MIMO systems are playing major role in achieving the increasing needs for higher data rates and spectral efficiency. As every system has drawbacks, Conventional MIMO systems has drawback of requiring as many RF feed chains as the number of antenna elements. To overcome the drawback, to increase the overall performance of system and to provide solution for space constraint devices, a new technology is proposed known as Beamspace MIMO. In Beamspace MIMO technique, Symbol vectors are mapped onto wavevector domain rather than onto antenna domain by using Electronically Steerable Parasitic Array Radiator(ESPAR) Antenna. This leads to virtual channel representation. ESPAR Antenna is an antenna array with parasitic elements circularly placed with center fed active element. In this paper, Beamspace MIMO transmission with BPSK and 64 QAM modulation in nakagami channel is considered. Various beam patterns of the system are generated with different load values. Comparison with the conventional MIMO of BER is presented and analytical capacity of the beamspace MIMO system is discussed.
