Active noise control by a beam-steerable parametric speaker with a human-tracking system equipped with a motion sensor is demonstrated. The position of the listener's head is determined using a motion sensor. The phase and sound pressure emitted by the parametric speaker are calculated based on the distance between the speaker and the listener's head such that the pressure is equal to that of the noise with opposite phase. The direction of the sound is controlled by changing the phase of the each transducer element in the speaker electrically, aiming it toward the listener's head. Thus, active noise control for a moving person was realized.
