An Ice-Templated Chitosan-based Ureteral Stent

We have developed a new, custom-designed ureteral stent, with attractive macro- and micro- structural features, mechanical performance, and drainage characteristics. The stent's ureteral drainage efficacy will be tested in vivo in a pre-clinical swine model. Successful outcomes from this project are expected to be transformative to the urologic field, offering a novel, clinically translatable, cost-effective device, with reduced morbidity and mortality.
