HER2 - Mediated Targeting of an Intracellular Antibody Delivery System to Breast Cancer Cells

We were able to improve delivery of nonspecific IgG_(Rb) to HER2-positive SKBR-3 breast cancer cells by loading the Hex carrier with both IgG_(Rb) and anti-HER2 antibodies. Future work will study the mechanism of uptake of the Hex carriers with and without HER2. The HER2 targeting strategy will be further assessed for delivery of a cytotoxic antibody in both cell lines, as well as in mice models. In conclusion, this study showcases the modular nature of the Hex carrier for both intracellular delivery of antibodies and targeting to specific receptors and cell lines.
