Planar Carbon Nanotube Antennas and Data-Centric Secure Communication

Recent advances in nanotechnology support remote networked sensors with wireless communication capabilities. Carbon nanotube antennas are fabricated and tested to detect radiation with a displacement damage dose sensitivity of$1.1imes 10^{-14}$dB/MeV/g. The antenna directive gain, efficiency, impedance, beam width, radiation power, radiation pattern affect signal strength, transmission range, error rates and throughput. Data masking and authorized access control are enabled by secure communication which reduces the overall vulnerability. We protect and secure information by encrypting the data using symmetric encryption schemes. Data-centric security and resiliency are considered in wireless communication applications which may use the proposed carbon nanotube antennas. Using the Advanced Encryption Standard, the symmetric encryption algorithms are implemented, tested and evaluated.
