Analysis of Loudness Matching of National Orchestra: A Case Study of Four Representative Conventional Instruments

This paper introduces the measurement of loudness, data statistics and making dynamic & loudness corresponding tables, by means of modern acoustic measurement during the research process, of four representative conventional instruments in national orchestra, namely, qudi (wind instrument), zhongruan (plucked string instrument), paigu (percussion instrument) and erhu (string instrument). Then it attempts to work out the establishment of the four voice parts in national orchestra under the guidance of the musical acoustics theories, aiming to facilitate the balance and mutual matching of loudness. Finally, this paper provides two flexible alternatives to deal with the loudness matching issue during the composition of national orchestral music on the basis of above-mentioned research.
