We address the global synchronization problem in this note for complex network with a target system whose control inputs are nonzero under directed switching communication topologies. To eliminate the impact of nonzero inputs, a discontinuous controller is designed. If the average dwell time is lower bounded by a positive constant, we show synchronization is achieved by selecting sufficiently large coupling strengths. In addition, some sufficient criteria are given for guaranteeing synchronization in the network under undirected switching communication topologies. Finally, we perform a numerical simulation to validate the theoretical results.
