This paper deals with the design of a new textile Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) transponder antenna for body-centric systems. The proposed antenna is a meander dipole operating in the Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) band with an overall size of 70*12*0.46 mm3 using three different materials: flexible copper foil, and ShieldIt Super and pure copper polyester taffeta conductive textiles as conductive parts. The wearable tags were analyzed in terms of antenna gain, reflection coefficient and surface current density through CST Microwave Studio software. Besides, wireless performance is evaluated so we can estimate the reading range at 4.3 meters at 915MHz.
