1,2,4,5-Dioxadiazine ring was introduced as the bridge for connecting two nitraminofurazan to form energetic salts based on 3,6-bis(4-nitramino-1,2,5-oxadiazol-3-yl)-1,2,4,5-dioxadi-azine (H2BNOD). Eight nitrogen-rich energetic salts based on BNOD anion were synthesized and fully characterized by by NMR ('H NMR, ~(13)C NMR, ~(15)N NMR), IR and elemental analysis. Furthermore, H2BNOF (5), ammonium (6), hydroxylammonium (8) and 4-amino-1,2,4-triazolium salt (13) were confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The densities of the salts are measured to be in the range of 1.730 (13) -1.914 g cm~(-3) (8). These salts show much better thermal stabilities and mechanical sensitivities than its precusor H2BNOD. The decomposition temperatures of the prepared salts range from 114°C (6) to I97°C (9). The impact sensitivities of the energetic salts lie between 1.5 J and 4.5 J and their friction sensitivities range from 53 N to >144 N. Their detonation pressures and detonation velocities were calculated to be in the range of 26.3 GPa (12) to 38.1 GPa (8) and 7754 m s~(-1) (12) and 9095 m s-1 (8), respectively.
