A reconfigurable patch antenna design for portable applications is presented in this paper. The antenna consists of patch lines connected in Tree shape on front side and the back side contains a T and L-shaped strips which are shorted with patch on front side for increasing electrical length. Frequency reconfigurablility is achieved by inserting three RF PIN diodes at suitable locations. This antenna is reconfigurable among different frequencies including GSM 900 and LTE bands such as 1.4 GHz, 1.6 GHz, 1.7 GHz, 2.5 GHz, and 2.6 GHz. Antenna is simulated in CST and a prototype is fabricated to compare measured results with simulated results.
