In this experiment, zinc oxide/crosslinked polyethylene composites were prepared by adding zinc oxide particles with nonlinear conductivity characteristics. By controlling the content of zinc oxide, the microstructure of the composite material was observed and the conductivity of the composite was measured. The aim of this research is to find the optimum content of zinc oxide in composites with optimal nonlinear conductance properties. The results show that when the content of zinc oxide is fifteen percent, the composite material has the best characteristics of nonlinear conductivity. This non-linear composite material can homogenize the field strength by itself, suppress the generation of electricity tree, prevent the material from aging, and has a very important application in the power system.
