Capacity of Massive MIMO System Based on Indoor Measurement

In this paper, a comparison of antenna correlation between a uniform linear array (ULA) and a uniform circular array (UCA) topological Massive MIMO (Multiple-input multiple-output) system is presented. We conduct a measurement campaign at a building hall scenario with bandwidth of 100MHz at 6GHz and extract the spatial correlation parameter. It is shown that antenna elements are deeply correlated and the envelope correlation coefficients show negative exponential down-trend with the increasing of antenna spacing in Massive MIMO systems. Furthermore, we investigate the system capacity. And then impact of spatial correlation on capacity is graphically presented, which is compared with simulation results of Rayleigh independent and identically distributed channel. Measurement campaign verifies the antenna correlation real exists, which decreased the system capacity.
