The comparative study of order pick location distribution characteristics impacting on the picking path in the distribution center

In this paper, we considered order picking location distribution characteristics and different combinations of traditional picking path strategies for shorter travel distance. A mathematical model about picking path optimization was proposed in considering order batching and picking path simultaneously. With much more experiments, we suggested the better picking path strategy to suit for different picking location distributions. It can be quickly recommended a better picking path strategy in any distributions situation for improving order picking efficiency.
