HCF technique that is used to filter out the illegitimate packets from the total number of packets has got certain constraints related to detection rate of, malicious packets. The HCF technique never ensures us about the eradication of IP spoofed packets in correct and complete manner that has been applied at the victim server. Even the Time-To-Live parameters can be Spoofed or forged because of its limited values. There must be some solution for getting accurate values of number of illegitimate packets and almost up to its 100% detection rate. Hence, there comes kaleidoscopic view and lot of scope to enhance this constraint by maximizing the detection rate of malicious packets. VCPHCF-RTT improves the efficiency of the probability based Hop Count Filtering technique using Distributed HCF at virtual intermediate nodes and virtual server along with RTT. It lessens down the probability of guessing the RTT and HCF parameter values both at the virtual intermediate routers and at the virtual server by the attackers. The robustness of VCPHCF-RTT has been shown in this paper against CHCF and PHCF techniques.
