Parabolic trough power plants are a promising option to produce electricity from renewable energy sources and for supplying steam to industrial processes. In this paper a parabolic trough concentrator with aperture area of 10.8 m2 was designed, manufactured and evaluated in the Research and Technology Center of Energy (CRTEn) in Tunisia. Climatic conditions, concentrated solar flux and thermal efficiency of parabolic trough concentrator were recorded experimentally in June 2016. As result, the thermal efficiency reaches a maximum value of the order of 30%.
