This paper is concerned with the adaptive consensus tracking control problem for multi-agent systems subject to intermittent communication failures. Based only on the state information of neighboring agents, a new tracking control strategy is designed by applying distributed adaptive technique. Also, by employing the multiple Lyapunov functions approach and algebraic graph theory, the tracking protocol design is given in terms of linear matrix inequalities. The novelty of this paper is that the presented adaptive consensus protocol has no requirement of the global information of the network topology. Furthermore, it is proved that the states of the tracking error system are uniformly ultimately bounded. Finally, the effectiveness of the presented distributed adaptive control strategy is illustrated with a simulated example.
