摘要

In this paper, we propose a simple technique that can increase the network performance by interoperation between a data link layer (layer 2) and a network layer (layer 3) to detect network error or congestion. The performance of the network will be degraded when failure or load occurred. The proposed technique concerns layer 3 by making some extensions on the OSPF protocol and it can be used for any IGP routing protocols. We will use a new Ethernet wired called OAM which showed that can detect congestion or failure in the network in less time comparing with other Ethernet. The OSPF extension aids to pass the traffic via balanced path or any other path can deliver the packets to the destination node. The expecting results will lead to improve the QoS and improve recovery time by reducing the current time.
