South Sumatera Palembang Light Rail Transit or abbreviated LRT Palembang is a type of mass transit system that was built to connect between Sultan Mahmud ?adaruddin II International Airport with Jakabaring Sports Complex. LRT Palembang system will be supplied by traction substations installed along the route. Therefore, an analysis and design is done to determine the power capacity and number of traction substations that will be used. Principally, the way to determine amount and capacity of traction substration including the analysis and design amount of trainset, the speed and operational time of the system, the force acting on the trainset, the trainset power capacity, the substation's location, the voltage drop and the power capacity of the traction substation.
