Emergence of WBAN (Wireless Body Area Network) introduced a highly flexible and intelligent network around the world that provides a highly secured communication over the human body. The RF front end receiver circuit of transceiver system consist of LNA, bandpass filter and frequency to amplitude converter and ADC. Here mainly focusing on the bandpass filter. The frequency range used to design the bandpass filter is from 2.3GHz to 2.69GHz. This frequency range consist of both the topology TDD and FDD and this range consist of ISM band. The bandpass filter is designed for the order 4. The bandpass filter contains spiral inductors which consumes more chip area. To reduce the chip area spiral inductors are replaced by SGAI. When one spiral inductor is replaced by an active inductor (SGAI) the area is reduced to a percentage of 60.273% and the quality factor obtained is 2.973. When SGAI is placed selectivity, bandwidth and impedance of bandpass filter is increased. Also quality factor and inductance value can be tuned to the required level. The analysis and implementation is obtained by the software CADENCE VIRTUOSO at 180nm technology.
