Many guidance systems are available for visually impaired travelers to help safely against obstacles and other accidences faced. The entire model which consists of obstacle detection system sensors like IR sensor, Float sensor, vibration motor, earphones and other hardware components needs to be mounted on the stick. The proposed model for obstacle detection using commonly available electronic devices to alert blind person. The user can walk himself without anyone's help in common public places. If the user is in some problem by which he/she cannot respond, the proposed system informs pre-specified social contacts by sending message. Alerting the pre-specified social contacts is completely application development oriented.
