Due to the benefits on energy-saving and environment-protection, many other countries are applying integrated energy systems for sustainable development. Such trend can also be found in many regions of China. Some studies on the feasibility of integrated energy systems could be found with aspects of design, plan and simulation, however there has been few specific case study available for that under cold climates. This paper presented a case study of Tianjin and proposes an available research method and relevant evaluation index, and obtains the applicability results of PGUs with diverse capacites under four typical building types, areas, three feed-in electricity prices and three natural gas prices in cold regions.
