The usage of the IoT in healthcare has sharply increased across various specific medical applications. Thus, it eventually makes the diagnosis of major medical abnormalities less complex than it was with the earlier technologies. It thus makes the system more effective and efficient enough to be able for its use as a portable device. To diagnose critical and vital heart diseases, the healthcare professionals still prefer the ECG results of the patient. ECG gives valuable information about different activities performed by the heart over a period of time. This paper represents the IoT technology as a tool for real time monitoring of the ECG. The system implemented in this paper can be efficiently used as a portable continuous time ECG monitoring device at remote areas. The primitive source of motivation is the lack of healthcare in the remote areas. This paper shows how ECG signals acquired from the 3-lead ECG signal conditioning system are processed by the TIVA TM4C123GH6PM C-series microcontroller and sent over the cloud for monitoring using the CC3100 Wi-Fi booster pack.
