C-band SAR interferometry for change detection analysis in Krishna River Delta

Delta ecosystem has always captivated the interests of scientists around the world because of its variety of landforms which are subjected to periodic or abrupt changes. The prime objective of this study is to explore the potential of Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) for change detection analysis in Krishna River Delta using C-band Sentinel-1 TOPSAR Interferometric Wide Swath data. The variation in delta dynamics have been analysed on a set of interferometric image pairs acquired from October 2016 to April 2017. An integrated cumulative change map was generated. Profound changes were noticeable in mangrove swamps, vernal pool and agricultural lands. This study has brought out the significance of InSAR for analysing delta dynamics.
