This paper studies a typical ring resonator in 2D Photonic Crystal with air holes in slab structure that has been simulated to observe the possible transmission spectrum as shown in the figure. The structures are designed with different bus configurations keeping the ring and all other parameters identical. This helps in the study of the change in transmission characteristics with respect to bus configuration and can likely be improved further to design relevant photonic devices. The algorithm used is Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD).
